Perhaps you have already popped the question and want to do an engagement shoot and are looking for a venue with a beautiful backdrop. Granny Mouse is the perfect location.
For your engagement shoot you should consider the following tips:
Selecting the right photographer:
Choose someone who you are both comfortable around, and one who’s editing style is preferred by both of you.
Communication:
Let you photographer know your venue ideas before you select your venue. Once selected ask if there are any extra fees for travel etc. If your photographer has been to the venue before, they are likely to know the best locations, but if not, do some research yourself, so you are prepared on the day.
On “shoot” day:
Bring props you would like to include in your photo shoot and bring along examples of poses you would like to copy for your own photos. These should be poses you are comfortable with, so as not to look to robotic in the images. The photographer can also guide you when it comes to this. Props don’t need to be over the top, and some images look better with just the couple featured.
Clothing:
You should both wear something you feel comfortable in, but preferably clothes that look fresh and relatively new. You are spending money on the images, so it’s best you look your finest. You may consider a theme, or a simple jeans and white t-shirt for both of you. You may also want a number of different outfit changes, but just ensure there is enough time to do this as you are likely to be paying per hour for your photographer.
Most important:
Have fun! Photos that are candid, capturing the moment are, most times, the best images. Posed photos are also lovely, if the pose does not look too “posed”.
Follow up:
When it comes to photography, you may have to wait a while to see your images and this is due to the editing process. Check timelines with your photographer before you start and sign a contract to safeguard yourself from potential disaster such as not receiving your images, or the photographer using your photographs for purposes you do not agree to, such as advertising their business and the likes. Once the photo shoot is finished, you should also keep in constant communication with your photographer to ensure your photos are of top priority. Perhaps, also agree to 50% payment upfront and 50% on delivery of the images.
