Granny Mouse is waste wise!

With the focus on recycling becoming a thing of the present and future generations embracing the need to care for their environment, it only seemed fit for Granny Mouse Country House and Spa to become “waste wise” and for the past 5 years, they have been assessing ways in which they can lower their carbon footprint and be more environmentally conscious and one such way is the implementation of a recycling programme to ensure that all staff manage waste responsibly.

General Manager, Sean Granger, commented that, “as a Hotel, there are a number of items that we use daily from our kitchens to our bar that are easily recyclable, and it has truly been a team effort to ensure that this programme runs effectively.”

The recycling stations have been set up behind the kitchen area, and are a series of recycling bins that allow for glass, plastic, paper and tinned products to be separated when discarded, however all other food waste is also collected and used to create a compost heap for the gardener, Mark Robson, to use when maintaining the lustre of the gardens.
