The giggle in the Granny Mouse Gardens
Well known for their immaculate and award winning gardens, Granny Mouse Country House & Spa has recently made some rather tongue-in-cheek additions to their gardens, through the use of some strategically placed and rather imaginative signage.
The idea, which was bandied around for many months among the various members of staff to conceptualize just the right messages, was implemented recently, and has certainly added a fun element to the magnificent surrounds of the Hotel.
Dotted all around the property are small signs expressing messages such as, “free slugs (unsalted) u-pick,” “shhh… the bugs are sleeping,” and, “frog parking, all others will be toad,” which have not only added a fun element to the blooming gardens, but have delighted unsuspecting guests.
According to the Granny Mouse Country House & Spa Landscaping Manager, Sonja van der Merwe, the implementation of the signage has not only been met with giggles and bemusement by guests, but provide fun little reminders to the gardening staff as they go about their daily duties. Van der Merwe added that they intend to move the various signs around from time to time as sometimes guests stay in different areas of the Hotel and thereby miss some of the quirky signs.
