Granny Mouse is committed to keeping its family healthy
Not only does Granny Mouse Country House and Spa like to make their guests feel like they’re a “home away from home,” but this is also true by the way they treat their staff.
Many of the staff have been a part of the Granny Mouse Country House and Spa family for a number of years, and in order to ensure that all staff are in tip-top shape, Granny Mouse invites the Singakwenza’s Mobile Clinic, to visit the property and provide regular health checkups for the team.
Launched in 2003, the Singakwenza’s Mobile Clinic, in partnership with the KZN Department of Health, has provided over 40 000 Primary Health Care consultations to those who have limited or no access to health care facilities, to provide on-site access to medication and the services of a registered nurse and counsellor.
Every two months, this mobile clinic visits Granny Mouse Country House and Spa and offers a host of medical services to staff, including acute ailments diagnosis, family planning services, testing for diabetes, HIV, STI’s and asthma to name a few.
Granny Mouse General Manager, Sean Granger, believes that this Mobile Clinic is an important element to his staff’s overall health and wellbeing, commenting that, “When you work in such close quarters with people on a daily basis, they really do become your family and we believe that it’s important to keep our team healthy, and with Singakwenza’s Mobile Clinic visiting our property, it genuinely keeps our team members well.”
He went on to say that since the mobile clinic started its visits, absenteeism has decreased and overall company morale has increased since the implementation thereof and the staff certainly embraced the programme.
Granny Mouse Country House and Spa would like to encourage other resorts to make use of the client and invite the clinic to visit their establishment.
